On Saturday 20 April 2019, Mapon University
officially received its first four laboratories. The handover
was conducted by Japan’s Ambassador to the DRC and
the Director of the Counterpart Funds Secretariat at the national Ministry of
Planning.
These are laboratories for metrology, statics and
strength of materials, machine design and
fluid mechanics, funded by the DRC Government through Japanese
counterpart funds.

The ceremony began in Mapon University’s amphitheatre with a
welcome from the Rector, followed by addresses by the Director of
Counterpart Funds at the Ministry of Planning and Japan’s Ambassador to the DRC,
and concluding thanks from the Chair of the Board of
Mapon University.
The ceremony ended with a visit to the
equipment awaiting installation and a guided tour of the building of
Mapon University.
