Our history and our campus.
Mapon University is gradually developing its academic programmes, infrastructure, library services and partnerships to meet needs in education, research and professional development.
The campus includes equipped lecture rooms, practical learning spaces, computing resources with Internet access and a library open to students, lecturers, researchers and external users.
Our history, our commitment
Founded in 2016 at the initiative of Matata Ponyo Mapon, Mapon University pursues an ambition: to make education, research and technology drivers of development for Maniema and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The institutional archives trace the development of the campus and its first academic and scientific activities.
2012 · Construction begins
Construction work on the university begins.
2016 · Foundation
Mapon University is founded.
2017 · Inauguration
The university is inaugurated on 16 October 2017.
2018 · A first academic milestone
The first academic year comes to a close.
2019 · Scientific exchange
The first high-technology conference is held.
