During a working visit to Kindu, SNCC Chief Executive Professor Sylvestre Ilunga Ilukamba visited Mapon University on Monday 19 November 2018. He was welcomed by the Board Chair and Rector, accompanied by a delegation including SNCC’s provincial director for Maniema.
Touring the facilities, he expressed admiration for the project and its vision of creating a university of advanced technology in the heart of the DRC. He urged students to be diligent, describing it as the foundation of success in study and life.
University leaders asked for his assistance in transporting the first laboratory equipment, still awaiting shipment from Kalemie to Kindu, so first-year bachelor’s students could use it.
At the end of the visit, the Chief Executive wrote words of congratulations and encouragement in the University’s visitors’ book for its founder and Board Chair, Augustin Matata Ponyo Mapon.
