{"id":738,"date":"2017-10-27T09:04:16","date_gmt":"2017-10-27T07:04:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/universitemapon.ac.cd\/?p=738"},"modified":"2026-10-24T17:22:27","modified_gmt":"2026-10-24T17:22:27","slug":"revolution-technologique-sur-le-continent-africain-luniversite-mapon-fait-son-entree-officielle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/universitemapon.ac.cd\/en\/revolution-technologique-sur-le-continent-africain-luniversite-mapon-fait-son-entree-officielle\/","title":{"rendered":"A technological revolution in Africa: Mapon University officially opens"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>27 October 2017,\u00a0<\/strong>the Mapon Foundation launches its technological initiative with the inauguration of Mapon University \u2014 the University of Advanced Technologies \u2014 in Kindu, Maniema.<\/p>\n<p>This national and international project begins today with the DRC\u2019s first university of advanced technologies, attended by its first 340 preparatory-year students, the Board of Directors chaired by Matata Ponyo Mapon, national authorities and academic, financial and scientific partners, some travelling from Europe, the United States and Asia.<\/p>\n<p>Four faculties in basic sciences, engineering, computing and economic engineering will eventually accommodate at least 3,500 students in a modern, energy-efficient building of over 12,000 square metres. Spread over three levels around an inner courtyard, it will include 11 lecture rooms, an amphitheatre, 13 laboratories including two computer rooms, and a library. The setting will support new industries, research and the DRC\u2019s industrial and technological development, with international cooperation involving leading engineering schools and universities.<\/p>\n<p>Mapon University fosters synergies with other institutions working in advanced technology and will train tomorrow\u2019s engineers to meet the challenges of globalisation. \u201c\u00a0<em>This campus reflects the strong investment of the\u00a0<\/em>Mapon Foundation\u00a0<em>in people through teaching\u00a0<\/em><em>of excellence, because \u201cGiving also means providing quality\u201d<\/em>, the Foundation\u2019s motto, reiterated by Matata Ponyo Mapon in his inaugural address.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>27 octobre 2017, la Fondation Mapon fait sa r\u00e9volution technologique avec l&rsquo;inauguration de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Mapon &#8211; l\u2019Universit\u00e9 des Hautes Technologies \u00e0 Kindu dans la province du Maniema.
